Some people are fans of Harry Potter, some are fans of French movies, and some are fans of pro wrestling like me; what can I say? I'm a pro wrestling nerd, and at this point, there is no stopping it, so I had to find a way to get it all out. To begin, I am Javier Ruelas, a college student out of Northern California who hopes to inspire those looking for a community of like-minded wrestling fans whose only goal is to push the art of pro wrestling forward. Since I can remember, I've been a pro wrestling fan all my life; as a little kid, I remember my grandpa from Mexico sending me luchador masks every Christmas, which only deepened my love for the sport.
From long nights at my cousin's place playing WWE wrestling video games til the sun rose to heated debates at the lunch table back in elementary school on whether John Cena or Randy Orton were both the greatest wrestlers of all time. I can confidently say that wrestling is ingrained in me back then and now. As I've grown older, I've noticed around me that there were plenty of pro wrestling fans who seemed to grow it out but secretly still enjoyed it, as pro wrestling was a little bit of their life that meant something important to them when growing up. I’ve felt the same way; sadly, throughout my teenage years, I've begun to grow out of it, but recently, I've found that same passion I had before for the art of pro wrestling again. So, my mission was to make pro wrestling cool for those older fans and newer fans and to reignite that love old fans had and spark a new love of pro wrestling for the newer fans. My goal was to be the bridge to that 50-year-old who remembers Andre the Giant but doesn't know who the new giant in pro wrestling is, the 30-year-old who remembers Stone Cold Steve Austin and wonders who the new anti-hero in wrestling, and the 20-year-old who still RKO’s their friends but wants to know what are the most incredible moves being performed. So Here comes Slam Central wrestling.
